Hello RCWing, F1 Fans,
This is a great idea for a CLUB.
Few comments (can't write chinese). This is maybe just a dream......
- BUT, why the club?
To be successful, a "GOAL" is needed. What is the goal?
GOAL suggestion
1) To promote the Hobby: attract more fans, younger generation, lady drivers
2) To improve HK drivers competitiveness on world stage (we have best tracks, people with time and money, but very few top drivers.)
3) To encourage and improve RC modelling and engineering knowledge of F1
4) To improve drivers driving and "gentlemen" skills
(ACO B Track is good and small, but because it is small, drivers need to drive like a "gentlemen". This is F1.)
5) To have a fun fun club; and free from "commercial" controls (不要太商業化)
6) To have a fun and friendly weekend activity for more people, children and family to join (BBQ, parties, etc.)
ALL ... in the long term, WILL promote HK RC brands and businesses.
PRINCIPLES suggestion
LESS CONTROL, MORE FREE =
- MORE FUN
- EASIER TO MANAGE AND ORGANIZE
- CHEAPER TO UPKEEP
- AND..................................MORE "INNOVATION"
- .........................................MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN
- Too much control NOT Good (tyre, motor, esc etc)
a) TOO commercial for a particular brand "太商業化". for example, F1RCGP died.
b) NOT good for RC modelling (not good for engineering, innovation, creative design)
c) Limits HK drivers ability (racing skills and model engineering skills).
Always chasing/changing to keep up with Brand/Organizer's products, limited by these products, therefore limits abilities
REAL "INDEPENDENT" CLUB EVENTS
- If meet every week, one style is boring.....
- the club is for the drivers, not for the businesses....
SPECIFICATION
Dimensions
- Limit physical dimensions of the car
LOWER/unlimited lower weight limits (test engineering skills, lighter cars not always fast),
Fixed length and width (different for different styles, 185 vs 200 etc.),
ESC
- BLINKY mode always (good for engineering skills in "optimising" power, torque, amp/volt, capacity, gear ratio, aerodynamics etc.)
- No control ESC
MOTOR
- EXPERT Events - NO Control motor and NO motor turn limits (open class)
- drivers will have to balance lower weight car, battery size and motor power. High power motor not always good.
- CLUB/BEGINNER Events - No Control motor, 17.5 - 21.5 Blinky - freely choose (people may cheat, but like expert class, good learning to balance power and weight.)
TYRES
- NO CONTROL tyres
use Rubber for rubber events
use Sponge for sponge events
EVENTS -
EXPERT LEVEL and CLUB (Beginner Level)
- Rubber Tyre Class 185 - modern style F1 bodies, year 2000 and later styles
EXPERT LEVEL and CLUB (Beginner Level)
- Sponge Tyre Class 200 - classic 1970s styles
NOTE: Experts cannot join Club races.
Extra fun events
- 2WD Pan / 2WD GT class 2WD 1/12th
- maybe classic style racing (sausage style)
