Just tested my Avante tonight. Below is my brief report to share with you.

Testing Condition:

Surface:
Asphalt - bicycle road

Motor:
23T, Tamiya Type S

Battery:
3700 mah, charged two weeks ago

ESC:
GTX

Servo:
Futaba 9451

Damper:
TRF

Testing Result and Comments:

Runtime:
With the above battery pack, I could run 15 min non-stop.

Motor:
The motor was extremely hot after the run. Therefore, adding a heat sink is highly recommended. Even the heat sink became really hot and the plastic beneath the motor was quite warm.

Control:
Very easy to maneuver the car. Sharp turn could be managed. No sliding or drifting when turning suddenly. The sound of the car is very quite. Could run smoothly and run a long distant when letting throttle off from full to neutral. The speed was really acceptable as a buggy. The torque was powerful.

Tire:
With tire insert, the tire felt like a soft bun yet firm. It helped the car to absorb the vibration. The tire did not wear out much after the run. Execellent tires.

Damper:
Must buy item. It helped the car to grid the ground and absorbed the force well when starting to move and when moving left or right (transfer of gravity).

Others:
The only thing that needs improvement is the heating issue. I guess a white pig or lower gear ratio could solve the problem.

DF03 Owners, please share your settings.

Dark Impact (mikewu)

Motor:
black pig (Tamiya Sports Tune)

ESC:
TC2

Servo:
Futaba 9451

Damper:
TRF

Modifications:
1) Motor heat sink (Tamiya)
2) One way bearing (Tamiya)
3) Slipper Clutch (Tamiya)
4) Blue color drive shaft (3 Racing)
5) Blue steering rod (Tamiya)
6) Universial Joints front and rear (3 racing)
7) Front carbon shock towers (3 racing)
8) Blue color turning rods (3 racing)
9) Blue color battery rod (Tamiya)
10) Rear carbon shock towers (3 racing)
11) Metal steering cup (3 racing)

Impression:
Black pig speed is pretty good.  Can almost compare with 23T RZs.  TRF oil shocks, motor heat sink is a MUST HAVE!  Universial joints are also recommanded as the original dog bones are very easy to fall out.  Also, front and rear A arms has small gaps on the shaft which needs spacers to make sure it fits.  Otherwise, it might hit the "turning rods" while turning.
Suggest changing other parts while each starting to break down.

Almost every week mate.....
I like my Sport Tune as heat is not a problem and the speed is somewhat decent.....  When are you coming back?

Brother, I have encountered a problem in steering and see whether you can help.

The situation is that my dark impact was crashed to the wall corner and the front left wheel was loosen with some parts damaged. I then changed the damage parts and use the universal shaft for the front wheels.

However, whenver I now steer the wheels to the left, I find that there is a "click click" sound from the left wheel which make the left turning a bit unsmooth.... it sound like that the wheel hit the turning rod.... but I can't do nothing....

do you have these experience and how to solve??

Ah....  You might want to check the screws that holds the steering cups are missing.  I had the same problem before...

For every DF03 owner, be sure to add spacers on your front king pin.  It's a designing failure as the king pin might move towards the steering and hit the steering rods.  And here is my DF03 Dark Impact.....  Just added 3 Racing metal steering cup and rear carbon shock towers last nigh...

Bodyshell: DarkImpact

Motor: Tamiya 23T super stock BZ

ESC: KO VFS-1

SERVO: KO 2413(8.5Kg 0.10S/60°)

Battery: Team Orion Li-Po 3200 + Novak auto-cut off

Option parts:
   *High Torque Servo Saver OP473
   *Slipper Clutch OP925
   *Heat Sink Bar Set OP924
   *6mm Wheel Hub OP596
   *DF02 Universal shaft OP791

My DF03 virgin run was testing on the wet grass, the performance seems better than my expected, the steering & acceleration were not too bad by the original damper + Tamiya BZ motor.
The material of the shock towers are fairly soft, better change it to the graphite one to increase the stability.
After 18mins runtime, the motor was damn hot, and 68 degrees hot was measured on the heatsink.
I think motor cooling is the major question on DF03, I may add a little fan in front of the heatsink, and open few holes on the bodyshell for air cooling.
Tamiya BZ motor has attached the sponge cover to protect sand and dust, it is really good little parts for off-road car which motor is located outside the chassis.

Also the TRF damper, spring set, roll bar and turnbuckle shaft set should be the great functional hop-up parts, I'm thinking about it!!

Here is my boring DF03 road test video and few photos..
(TRF bodyshell but no TRF hop-up parts )
