第一代無限 bulldog probably was one of the most sloppily made cars from Mugen. I got my Bulldog in May, 1985 with the hope that the AWDS + 3珠差 would do magic, dead wrong!!

呢架車當時o既設計相當屎, 相當多缺點, 唔好跑, 蠢到令人啞口無言, 連直線都行唔到!!

我最欣賞佢密封式傳動系統, after playing for a whole summer (almost everyday

), I opened the 傳動, the 皮帶 and 皮帶輪 were like brand new!!

我好懷念 Mr. Lee Bing-Kong 代'城市'鬥車嘅戰馬; 印象中我見過 a heavily modified Bulldog 在(啟德)城市舖頭, 架車set到很貼地, low到好底嘅平地 BUGGY, Kyosho 1/8 shocks X 2 and 當年架車裝4條勁薄海綿呔. It won a couple of races using trinity motors and batteries. Some potential in the car, 我心裡非常羨慕, 流哂口水, 好想整番部 super modified 玩吓, but當年好貴, 以前仲係學生哥, 真係無錢, 買唔起 trinity

呢幾年搵返 this car and set off 改裝, 我講講點改:

(1) 最難揾係套全新 MIP hop-up 珠差: with good luck, I purchased a set of brand new MIP front and rear 珠差 with close to nothing (this took care of the stiff differentials, either too loose or too tight because Mugen forgot to design a pressure spring in it!! more info is here http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=7964),
(2) add a few thrush washers in the middle differential to make it more adjustable,
(3) custom made a graphite chassis + front and rear anti-roll bar brace,
(4) HPI off-road shocks, the original air-shocks was not really adjustable the only advantage was that they never leak oil, this oil leakage problem was only solved when Kyosho and 双星 separately figured out that CVA shocks with a rubber diaphragm in 1985(!!!)

,
(5) 每邊裝2粒 metal nuts inside the 轉向杯 at 4 corners (original ball ends on the 轉向杯 would put out the of the hubs under hard impact),
(6) 4 aluminium CNC touring car rims from 工房師兄 here (retro to the mid-80s Hong Kong on-road buggy theme),
(7) 改部車嘅轉向組件: 研究&計算一下幾何角度, 改direct steering in the front using a mini servo 玩平路嘅轉向設定, uneven tie-rods with 'Ah So 屎' ball ends and a direct servo saver with graphite extension, greased and shrink wrapped the roll bars, (more detail here www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=9626)
(8) get a repro Kyosho Beetle 殼(Scorpion's cousin) because the odd shaped monocore gearbox/chassis and shocks set up made it almost impossible to fix ANY buggy body without looking too odd,
(9) locked out the rear steering with 双星 F103 turnbuckles,
(10) change the hinge pins to hard type steel pins and added locking collars.

Will add some interesing 懷舊電變 + 魔打 and will post more photos when 個殼 is painted. BTW, for the first time, my wife saw 個殼 on the chassis and she said it is pretty!!

the steering servo is so tiny........looks like one for 1/18 or even 1/24 scale...........does it provide enough torque for this huge buggy ??...........

The servo is OK la, this is a Hobbico CS12, very fast, not too weak, technical details can be found on towerhobbies website. Worse come to worse I use a standard servo

I think it will be good if you use the F350 tyres for this car..........plus this funny looking Beetle shell.........

Will likely use touring tire as on-road setup.

Most likely paint it in my standard white/red scheme with a black line separating the 2 main colors. I am not talented in painting...

Fyin: the body is a repro. I have finished triming it, will post more photos when I have more time

Minimini: 32 pitch gears, I have a few but 32 pitch can also be ordered from online stores.

藍色的全龍骨版本 could be Marui Galaxy or Mugen Bulldog first generation

The blue one in the photo above is a Bulldog.

The problem is that it is oversize when compare with other 1/10 buggy...

this is the best bulldog i have ever seen...well done!
i have the bulldog II but i think cage is much better than lexan body
