Talking about Cap, first of all, my humble opinion is, it depends on what kinds of motor you are playing, if you are playing original 540 motor or even 23T motor, you do not need a cap.
If you are playing 9T - 13T motor, you may need a cap.
The function of the cap is, due to the modified motor need more current to build up the power, therefore, the power supply may not be stronge enough to the receiver, therefore, the cap function is to supply the suddenly drop of current to the receiver to make the RC continuiously working under any kinds of circumstances......
