Any brother drives Maserati here? How's the Gearbox? From Ferrari? Need major overhaul every 30K kms?

I can't afford Marserati, but one of my friend owns a Lambo Gallardo and Maserati QP in UK. He told me the front gearbox failure of his Lambo costed him about 10k pounds about 2 years ago. Once the warranty period expire, the maintenance cost can be awful lot.
It depends on where you buy sometimes, if you buy it from the Maserati dealer, they will provide you a maintenance scheme at a fixed price in a fixed period or certain mileage.
But 30k km which is about 19000miles, you will normally need a big service and you should expect a clutch overhaul.

yes this is old Ferrari 90s bulky F1 gearbox, it calls duo select in terms of Masa, its actually a hudralic system replace human left foot to engage the clutch. some of duo select gearbox can't last 10k kms, aprroximate the clutch and throw out bearing can last over 30k kms.
most of the user misunderstand duo select gearbox is automatic gearbox, but actually not, it only comes with auto shifting mode instead of peddle shift. Post 07 model has change the ZF 7 speed dual clutch gearbox which is really an automatic gearbox.
My QP just did the clutch change just over 30k kms

I see, thanks brother, frequent maintenance is generally expected for high power european cars under HK driving condition. Just want to make sure I understand the car and its bottom line when it comes to major service. Thanks.

Ok. No problem. I'm not sure if there is any 2nd hand Maserati dealer in Hong Kong, it would be the easier way to get the info. on the plans or you may ask the errrrr.... who owns a just serviced Quattroporte.
BTW which model you are looking for?

Are you getting a new one or 2nd hand? I don't think they are putting a real F1 gear box on their car anymore, which is very depressing

I think this is just how you define F1 transmission, actually there is a Grand Turismo Sport F1 model, it has an ultra quick paddle shift, but you cannot really compare it to the 8 speed real formula one transmission.

I'm same interest buy 4.7 GT Sport F1 11 or 12,
but second hand market small choice !

& this model very long time , unknow what time have new model ?

obviously. what i meant for f1 gear box is referring to the gear box without a torque converter. Not the 8n on the formula race car

Bar the MC12, most of the Maserati is not that high performance, they are mostly GT style, they will need a more smoother gear change rather than ultimate performance, just like the Beemer 650i using the hydraulic box (torque converter) but not the SMG.

其實新一代QP(M156)已面世, 仲有一部已在澳門出牌, 但現時只得左軚.

PS: 此車章是QP M156獨有, 舊款M139沒有的.

Yes correct. The so called F1 gearbox is sale gimick, nothing relate to F1, only the idea is. The wieght, the system are different to street car.
