Got my TN05 mini running, will take it to the track soon, thought I would share some photos

Yes, the kit is by TN Racing Japan. I've been told they are limited to 66 kits only. The kit consists of the chassis upr & lwr, shock towers, blue alloy motor/spur mounts, alloy steering plate and the rear belt. The battery plate is a TN option, and the rest is all Tamiya parts either M03, TA05 or TG10 .. I put the Cross reinforced arms on there and the Tech alloy uni's in the rear.

Finally got around to adding the bill:
TN TA05 conversion kit = 15000yen
TN stick type battery holder = 2000
Tamiya alu ball nut = 600
Tamiya tb evo 4 servo mount = 650
Tamiya hi torq servo saver = 700
Cross reinforced carbon arms = 600
Tamiya M03M F parts = 700
Tamiya 1050 bearings x 2 = 1000
Tamiya super mini cva shocks x 2 = 2200
Tamiya universal shaft = 2000
Tech Racing Universal = 2000
Tamiya TG10 susp shaft set = 400
Tamiya TL01 susp shaft set = 400
Tamiya 5mm short adjusters = 150
Tamiya TA04 racing body mount set = 600
TB Evo 3 battery holder = 500
Tamiya TA04 king pins = 150
Tamiya alu pilo ball = 600
Tamiya TA05 front direct coupling = 2000
Tamiya TA05 centre oneway set = 3000
Tamiya TA05 Drive belt = 500
Total = 36700yen ($308USD)
+
Tamiya TA05 clear blue bulk head = $11USD
Tamiya TA05 clear blue upper frt & rr brace = $6USD
Grand total = $325USD
+ a ball diff for the rear which I took from my TA05 touring car, bearings for the diff which I had, plus a body and wheels & tyres, spur & pinion. Quite expensive in the end.

I have put 2 packs through, it works really well, feels like a touring car to drive, I need to test again with different tires, I was using the ABC super MGR slicks and the car slid a little bit in the corners, good fun

Civic1500vti - where can buy the kit...???

I pre-ordered mine in May 2006 with Rainbow 10, it didn't arrive until November 2006!!!
I don't think there are any more available but you could always email Rainbow 10 or the manufacturer TN racing:

Rainbow 10 is one of the easiest online japanese stores to order from. Although they charge full retail yen price, their service is excellent, and if a product is not listed on their site they will do special orders/back orders if they are able to.

I bought from Rainbow 10 at full retail, but I pre-ordered it in May '06 and received in November '06.
The kits were limited to 66 only to celebrate TN's 6th birthday. Shortly after they all sold out I read something on the TN webpage about people in Japan re-selling (auctioning) their kits for 30,000 to 60,000 yen, making a huge profit, I think TN got upset so made more but sell at a higher price

I can't read japanese, I just used an online translator to read the text on their website, so if my story is incorrect I apoligise.

Do you know anyone that can cut out carbon fibre? If so, I can scan/draw up the battery holders exact dimensions and you can get one made.

I don't think the Tamiya TA05 carbon battery holder will fit … but I will check for you.

So far I have only road tested once with ABC slick tyres, the car was fast but it would slide around the corners. I have bought sets of Pit Shimizu slicks in 24, 27 & 30 compound, so I will test again with them.

I haven't looked for a replacement rear belt. I don't think it will be a problem, I've never shredded a belt on any of my other cars ... yet.

Yes, the part you circled is a stock plastic TA05 part.

The suspension arms were bought separately, they are Cross reinforced M03/M04 arms

and for temp. i will go for the adhesive, and is the battery holdler can hold saddle pack (not stick)?

For the rear belt would like to have the spare first that's make me feel more confortable,
did you check from (新填地), or other place??

I only have the chassis and the rear ball diff and some ta05 spare parts , need to buy a lot of stuff.

Did you play with sport tune(黑皮豬) or 23T?

I played with sport tuned, but geared at 5.5:1 - much faster than M03

Have you seen the TN website, they have a 225mm wheelbase version of their mini, with an MX-5/Miata body

Regrading your previous page about the list of the mini Ta05 parts, i do have some question would like to ask

1) Cross reinforced carbon arms <- what's this? not include in M03M F parts?
2) Tamiya 5mm short adjusters ??
3) Tech Racing Universal <- is made by Alum? using on front or rear? better than Tamiya?
4) what the lenght of Tamiya universal shaft?

Hi zender - not sure how they did it, but I know you can get an M03 to 225mm by flipping the arms, so maybe they did the same?

Hi Gavl,

Would you like me to add a rear belt on for you next time I order from Rainbow 10?

1/ Cross reinforced carbon arms are made by "Cross", they are for M03 & M04 lower arms. I will take a photo to show you them more clearly, they are not a tamiya part, they just look cooler than the tamiya arms

2/ Tamiya part no. 50797 - used on the upper arms/upper links. Allow you to adjust camber.

3/ Tech racing uni, blue alloy (TM3100 Super universal shaft ¥2,500), use only in the rear as they are more likely to be damaged if used in the front and you hit something.
Nope, Tamiya rebuildable uni (53597) is stronger … and if you're after lightweight you can buy the Tamiya titanium wheel axle (53681), this will also work on the M03 ... but they will wear out in 6 months, where as the standard steel parts (53597) will last for over 1 year.

4/ Tamiya rebuildable uni (53597) has 30mm swing shaft.

The shaft on the TA05 ... you mean the uni shaft right? same as mini M03 - 30mm.
