The first generation of "EAGLE" was made in 1982.

The photo I just post is 2nd generation called "Super Eagle". I think it is made around in 1984.
This "Super EAGLE" belong to my friend. Not mine !

"PB" is just a follower, not the inventor of Indpendend suspension RC car !

This DELTA ESC is my collection !

I recall seeing a PB in one of the un-official race before I left HK for study.
That was a PB alpha and that was year 1981. There were a couple of
suspension car announced at the year 79-80.

I was only a teenager by that time, both Delta and PB was 'big name'
at those time.

I still recall those very destinctive DELTA heatsink (probably have one
lying around at my old house).

Seems Delta that you have is more solid as it's using metal arms,
the PB Alpha, on the other hand, use plastic arms and torsion springs
and was very bouncy when run. (Probably it was using solid rubber tires).

Those solid rubber time, btw, feel much like the drift tries nowadays...

Delta was using sponge tires all alone.

I never seen PB raced in HK in 80's. I think, PB was a very innovative company at that time.
I remeber , DELTA & Associated was popular in the early 80's.

this heavy duty linkage I used in my GP 1/10 today is brought 20 year ago for my 1/8 GP buggy steering rod.

just see this linkage is used in that Delta Eagle . I had visited Hobby world in new world center at that time.

P4 is a very nice race R/C car at that time. I remember Mr. Chang X Ming had raced with this R/C at the 80' period!! He is still racing now.
BTW, Chang is one of my racing hero !!

Yes ! Mr. Chang was a super winning Delta driver ! But later he changed to Serpent and then Delta in HK become...

The PB independent suspension did a very impressive job in HK. Mr Cheng Wai Hung got 2nd position in the invitation race at Tai Po where Kondo (Kyosho 4Wd phantom, Ishihara Delta Eagle, Christopher Cheung was driving a OPS powered Kyosho Phantom) In those days, Niki Kwong, James Choi are also Phantom 4wd /OS drivers. I remebered it was raining in the race, Cheung put on rear wiht thread cut in but results in not good. However, he qualified very well in day one and TVB had reported these.

The "eagle" drivers of Pan car CK 800 series namely: Lam Jo Kee, Dick Lam and his son, The second tiers of Delta 2wd drivers were just to quote a few Yeung Ngai Nang, Lai Wai Wah etc, Jimmy Chu, Benz Yuen etc
the 3rd tiers at P4 era were Greg Lau, Yeung's brothers, team of Blue Bird, Sze Luen Fat,

Christopher if you are here, do you remember you threw your transmitter from the driver stand at Wanchai in the 1st Asian Invitation. We all witness how u a great driver had improved himself to be a hero to many.

In the early days of Serpent 2speed 4wd rossi engine, the eagle single speend OPS could beat them with a big gap.
