It has been launched into the Japanese market, but when will it become available in HK.

I'm going to Japan soon, not sure should I get it in Jap or just wait longer here.

i don't think i will get the dNano even if it is launched it hk... need to spen at least $2000 just to get a running set.
for the same price i can build a full optioned 2.4G mr02 or even AWD.

you're right, price is a bit expensive.

but it incoporates a lot of latest technology like 2.4G digital transmittion, LiPo battery................

well, give us a 'report' after u got yours, ok?
i wonder if we can self-build battery packs for the dNano, original kyosho packs must be very expensive.

and if it can be DIYed, there's no need to buy the transmitter + charger + battery set, just the chasis and body will be enough. right?

btw do u know the 1:43 EPOCH racers? they are digital proportional and comes in different bodies. i saw them selling for $3xx last time. runs on a battery pack like the dNano too.

maybe i should have that instead. dNanos are way too expensive.

but I am still more interested in the dnano as it is more advanced (2.4G & LiPo) and nicely made (finishing)

Me too ! Especially when I imagine using my new EX1UR 2.4Ghz to control the dNaNo, fun haha !

Okay, sometime ago in March, I emailed to Kyosho about the dNaNo, they said it'll arrive in Hong Kong on July.

I guess Kyosho is trying to develop a new market or culture of RC for this dNaNo. They don't distribute to RC shops. Instead, they only sell in their pro shop in Omotesando, Akihabara & one shop called Hobby Road Second in 立川駅. They try to sell not just the car but also selling the track that you spend money & play there.

Only if they'll distribute to RC shop, the price will not go down. Even they distribute, they may fix the price to their distributors. The new 2.4Ghz Mini-Z MSRP is 17325 yen & the dNaNo is 16275 yen. You can get the new Mini-Z in RC shops with 12000yen. So if the dNaNo will distribute to RC shops, the price should be more or less same as Mini-Z 2.4Ghz.

Worth or not really depends, by putting the servo, rc unit & battery in a 1/43 scale with many nice details different bodies with 2.4Ghz fully proportional control, plus those options & tools, they must have put some money on their R&D.

To me, dNaNo is very attractive as I can construct a "playable" track at home!

then your home must not be a small one, as I think you need at least 2 x 3 meters space for a good play
