btw, seems that some bros are using new tech but they all tune down the response speed.
this makes me think that do we need that incredible response speed? or AD band is good enough? i just wonder...
i've planned to change to 2.4G b4, but from the reviews of other bros' and of coz my empty pocket, maybe i should wait and see :-p

I think it's quite difficult to compare the difference in terms of response speed of AD & 2.4GHz pcb unless we have some experienced players test run both AD & 2.4GHz on the same car, same set-up & same TX with sensor to count lap times.
But I can say it's a big difference when I upgraded to EX1UR from the original Kyosho KT-18 TX. Same story when I had upgraded to EX10 in advance mode from MARS R when that time I was playing AD Band.
I used to be someone that will never believe that the transmitting speed of an advance TX can make you faster than ever but now I must have to admit that I was wrong. As long as you get used to the faster transmitting speed & driving like what you did before, that means your car is faster in terms of response. You'll accelarate & brake faster. Not your fingers are faster but the shorten transmitting time helps especially when you are in advance skills.
Is there any discussion about which channel transmits signals faster ? FM modulation or 2.4GHz ? Also, it seems like even both Futaba & Kyosho introduce 2.4GHz but their technology are different ? So even both using 2.4GHz but may have dfferent transmitting time ? I maybe wrong.......

Hi, Henry and Tam.

I have used the Ex10 for a long while and had been using the Ex1 UR for a month or two (while switching back to my Ex10 from time to time).  Personally, I think it will be a little difficult to tell whether any difference is all contributed from the new transmitting format(2.4G vs AD band) or it is mainly from the transmitting format.

Given the exact same car and the same AD band module, there certainly are differences between the two remotes.  Ex1 UR has a much much lighter steering wheel and the the throttle trigger, even when my Ex10 is tuned all the way loose (unless some Bros had cut the spring, that will be a different story).  Of course, positions of where things are, weight, grip are all different too...So even the first drive with Ex1 UR, I could feel the difference in car performance just by the physical differences between two remotes.

I recently just gotten my 2.4G module and on-car 2.4G board; and I will test on both Ex10 and Ex1 UR, without using the new Ex1 UR features (such as quick response or quick throttle), and compare it to my second AD band car which has a very similar setup.

Another question I have is whether it is not a remote question, but mainly the new 2.4G on-car board is a better design than the AD band board.  All I know so far is the ICS setting will be different and that will certainly affect the car.

I too am not a signal expert, but I think Tam is asking the right question--as far as I know, even with 2.4G (a transmitting format) , the signal could be transmitted in either PCM or PPM (encoding format).  It is probably important to understand their differences while we are making the comparisons in reality.  But one thing for sure, with the spread spectrum, we will definitely have less radio-related (Tx or Rx) problems.

I have read something similar b4 so it makes me to think that to judge whether AD or 2.4GHz pcb faster, means we have to dig up some science lessions of modulation on the link provided my Aurora.

Correct me if I'm wrong. As I remember, AD equals to FM but on 21, 22 or 26 ? Mhz frequency ?

I tried two 2.4GHz pcbs with the KO module and the EX-10. One with modification of FETs and the other just 3010. They both have the following characteristics with the throttle:

1. too sudden acceleration from neutral
2. stops slowly even when your Tx return to neutral
3. max speed seems faster

Overall: lap time not as good. 8(

i think 1. can be adjusted by settings on the EX10 or EX1UR using the throttle curve or autostart
while 2. is due to difference in factory settings on the PCB, the AD board has the "invetia" set to "off" while the 2.4G board's original setting is "level 2" if i am right.

我覺得冇必要換。
1. 我試過用 3pk 玩 AM ，反應快過 KT18 玩2.4G。
2. 雖然 2.4G 轉向比 AM 精確，但AWD 或 MR02 ，原裝 servo saver 本身虛位唔小，就算架車換哂金屬胎尺金屬杯，轉向性能 AM 同 2.4G 分別都唔大。

以上純粹個人感覺。

關於 AM jam 問題。同控有關。
我用 2PL控會 jam，但用 2DR 同 3PK 都感覺唔到有 jam。
(2DR 仲平過 2PL)
