Dot 3 brake oil and tissue would help to remove old paint.

how to know it is a Lexan  or PC ....
is lexan mostly made on the underbody ?

and what will happen if brake fluid on lexan ?

Lexan widely used in clear Body where you will apply paint from underside (Vacumn Forming).  Lexan will melt using brake fluid....

PC (polycarbonate) and lexan are both materials for making clear body, most tamiya bodys are made with PC.

i think lexan is mostly made for underbody , since it is harder .

please correct me if i m wrong.

is lexan the trademark of polyvarbonate of GE??

Thanks, I don't know Tamiya use PC also.

if I don't remember wrong, japanese company only use PC, only US company us lexan from GE(lexan is a trade name)

there are cases on my vintage buggies... Egress and TopForceEVO.. top body is PC and the undertray are made with Lexan.... mostly, the undertray do not apply color.

i think that only source of PC sheets problems.  may be cause by need of thickness.  When we first time see lexan, i think is at 模型天地, adv for associated rc-12e, since most other company still use plastic of abs.  lexan from ge, made helmet (i think is faceshield) for US astronaut. lexan is polycarbonate resin thermoplastic.

yup, we use PC a lot nowadays, actually it is always bad for any kind of chemicals.

thinner even will break it down..

I use sand paper to remove paint before...

I think some other bros had improved way to do that... but I don't know

I tried Gunza thinner without any problem..

break down not means instant, just the performance will degrade, long terms still bad

Polycarbonate is the chemical name of Lexan. They are the same.
